Senior Quantity Surveyor required in Reading
GVR Solutions are currently representing a long standing and well established client who are a specialist carpentry contractor based in Reading. This particular client solely specialises in carpentry and joinery packages within the residential sector and are now looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their highly skilled team.
The responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Identifying and acquiring new clients and business opportunities, driving growth and profitability. This may involve entertaining clients at sporting events.
- Develop relationships to ensure effective communication is achieved and maintained.
- Responsible for building relationships with clients through regular telephone conversations and site meetings.
- Relationship building with carpenters and suppliers with regular communication.
- Assist the commercial team to produce accurate take-offs and submit tenders in line with business strategy. Some involvement in materials supply packages.
- Be involved in setting site budgets which will include breaking down subcontractor prices sheets and setting other budgets.
- Oversee Subcontractor Payment Process alongside Accounts function ensuring all invoices are processed weekly and paid fortnightly.
- Surveying several live sites.
- Managing the variation procedures & dealing with price queries from carpenters.
- Attendance to a monthly debtors meeting.
- Prepare regular reports including KPI data for the board illustrating the financial situation of various projects in relation to budgets.
- Prepare RAMS documentation and deal with customer care issues.
