Roofing and Cladding Buyer required in Enfield

GVR are working with a subcontractor who specialise in fully supported hard metal roofing, facades, cladding systems and flat roofing for all types of projects. We are seeking to employ professionals within this specialised industry, to carry out duties on a varying size of projects. The ideal candidate will possess excellent negotiation skills and having roofing or cladding buying experience. Experience and technical skills in construction and procurement, such as the ability to read construction drawings & undertake take-offs would be helpful.

Roofing and Cladding Buyer Responsibilities:

• Procurement and scheduling of products, materials, plant, and equipment
• Ensuring purchases offer best value
• Monitoring and reporting of price increases, updating internal spread sheets.
• Tracking orders and proactively addressing any failed or late deliveries
• Arranging the return of non-conforming products
• Maintaining and developing the supply chain
• Identification of new products
• Processing of purchase ledger records
• Proven track record in best-value procurement ensuring timely on-time delivery in line with project programs and budget
• Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills to optimise pricing and commercial terms
• Review the credentials of potential new suppliers and ensure that suppliers are compliant
• Ability to forward plan for multiple site projects and prioritise workload across long-lead and real time demands
• Identify potential supply problems and solutions

Requirements of the Roofing and Cladding Buyer:

• Minimum 2 years Purchasing experience in roofing, cladding, or an aligned industry
• Experience and/or education in procurement and inventory management
• Working knowledge of computer programs for word processing, email, and spreadsheets
• To read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
