Facades Quantity Surveyor required in Hertfordshire / London

GVR are working with a specialist contractor who specialise in Facades and bespoke building envelope solutions. They are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their well established and dynamic team in which you will be based in the office 2 days a week with the remaining 3 days a week out on site.

 

 Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor are :

  • Manage valuations in accordance with the contract documents.
  • Manage and variations and advise the client accordingly.
  • Develop and offer advice to assistant surveyors
  • Providing support for the full life cycle of projects, including establishing timescales, budgets and resources
  • Enable maximum profit, smooth running and on schedule deliverables of projects
  • Interrogation of Bills of Quantities, Schedules, Specifications and drawings
  • Liaise with clientele on a day to day basis
  • Be accountable for day to day running of the project
  • Establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies
  • Cost control, cash flow, financial reporting and advice to Management teams
  • Liaise with Internal teams on project progress and problems
  • Reporting all aspects of the project, Cost, timeframes, problems, risks, solutions
  • Liaise with Internal teams during the cycle of the project
  • Liaise with Contract Managers in the preparation of any contractual letters to sub-contractors or clients.

The Junior Quantity Surveyor will:

  • Hold a Quantity Surveying degree or Construction Management degree
  • Have at least 5 years’ surveying experience in the Facades industry.
  • Relevant IT Skills
  • Excellent oral communication and written skills
  • A good knowledge of Maths
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Confident, Articulate and a critical thinker
  • Ability to work to deadlines
