Junior Quantity Surveyor required in South London / Kent
GVR Solutions are working with an existing client who are in the market for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their specialist roofing team.
The client gets involved in Residential and New Build projects in South London & Kent. This is a great opportunity for Junior Quantity Surveyor to get hands-on training and development from a very skilful team. Ideally you would be studying a Quantity Surveying course or completed a Quantity Surveying course.
As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will:
- Assisting with procurement involving identifying and sourcing reputable local subcontractors
- Collating, identifying and packaging subcontract individual trade packages.
- Issuing these packages for pricing to the market.
- Negotiating final comparisons
- Presenting to the business my final recommendations
- Drafting and issuing of subcontract orders
- On site management of subcontract orders
- Monthly interim application reviews and management to certification
- Onsite management of variations to subcontract orders
- Head office cost reporting
- Reporting to senior commercial manager and client PQS
The Junior Quantity Surveyor must have/be:
- Studying or completed a Quantity Surveying degree or Construction Management degree
- Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office
- Excellent oral communication and written skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good listener
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
- Confident, Articulate and a critical thinker
- Ability to work to deadlines
